for the little one

I just made these! Sorry for the flashy photos - the sun has long since set.

Elliot is back and forth with his potty training. Some days he lets me know, but more often than not, he lets me know he has gone. He wears undies mostly at home, and I put him on the potty throughout the day. When we are out he wears a cloth diaper, but it is a pain to re-diaper a wiggly 2 year old while standing with a cover and prefold! I have been looking at buying a few of the cloth/reusable pull-ups for a while, but with a price tag of 12.00 - 20.00, I was having a hard time going for it.

I also looked at some work-at-home-mom ones on Etsy, and while the price was less, it convinced me I could probably do it myself. So I ordered some PUL (waterproofing fabric for clothdiapers), and FOE (fold over elastic - like bias tape, but elastic.) Tonight inside of 2 hours, I made my first pair!

Soft flannel on the inside - and will also help him feel wet (not wick away like disposables)

Not the best, but it will work for now. I need to work on the design a little, and maybe make the leg opening larger, but for a first attempt, it is pretty good. I used re-purposed flannel inside, then a cut up pre-fold for absorbency, and the PUL outside. Bound it all with FOE!

I will try it on him tomorrow, and see what adjustments need to be made.

Yeah for cloth trainers!
