Round here

Last week before our little trip, I took time to take care of some much needed car maintenance... oil change, tires rotated, etc. While killing time in the NTB parking lot, the boys spotted the pile of old tires waiting to be picked up and recycled. Owen asked me if we could take one home with us because he wanted to roll in it. I had to admit, it did sound tempting - maybe not the rolling part, but there was a big one that I thought would make a good tire swing.

When my car was finished, we asked the manager, and he said we were welcome to it. So I heaved (literally) the tire into the back of my car, and off we went!

Before we could do much playing with the tire, it needed a good bath. This proved to be a fun filled morning for sure!

The boys and our friend Alejandra played and "cleaned" the tire for almost 2 hours! It was a good use of energy, and now we have the makings of a tire swing ready to go. Only thing we need now is a good tree...
