A little trip

We took a little trip over the holiday weekend to visit my Grandparents in Lindale, TX. It has been a couple of years since we have been. In fact, we have never traveled there with Elliot. It turned out to be such a wonderful weekend. Both boys did great in the car.... Elliot had to make three stops along the way

but he stayed dry the whole drive!

The boys had such a great time exploring "GG & Papa's" house. There were old cars, toys, a wood shop, a swing set, and so much more to discover.





Two of my cousins were in town to visit my Aunt and Uncle (who happen to live right next door), and they have little ones that Owen got to play with. This was the first time that Owen remembers meeting his second-cousins, so it was a real treat for him to have the company of new friends.

I loved watching my boys enjoy the simple pleasure of going to their great-grandparents house; watching the rain from the screened-in porch, the birds feeding from the many feeders, waiting patiently for the top of the hour to see the cuckoo come out of the clock, and discover the wonderful stack of books next to the bed... the same ones GG used to read to me.


We are looking forward to many more weekends, and lots of memories with GG and Papa.
