Now, with Owen's birthday and Christmas only weeks apart, he has to go quite a long time in between gifts. Recently he has been asking for a pair of flip-flops, and because I am way to practical, I keep telling him "no, you have good shoes, and flip-flops are not safe shoes for a little boy"... poor guy, he has such a mean Mommy (that wears flip-flops everyday!). I decided to be a nice Mommy, and do something that I knew would just bring a smile to his face... even if it wasn't practical.
We also enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with friends. Castles were built, princesses rescued, froggies chased (and caught), ice cream enjoyed and giggles all around.
I am so proud to be Owen's Mommy. What an amazing boy he is growing up to be. I want to celebrate everything that is special about him, anytime I get a chance.
Happy four and a half Owen,
I Love you!

And speaking of children and growing up, here are some beautiful words I came across the other day.

What a sweet celebration. We have the same issue over here with the holidays and birthdays so close to each other in the winter. Half birthdays are definitely the way to go!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link as well. That is so lovely.
